At birth, our tongue is the only fully developed organ we have. It’s needed for sucking and it’s our primary organ for survival, expressing ourselves and to explore our new world.
• Before the earliest tooth appears, make sure to wipe gums with wet cloth.
• After the first set of primary teeth begin to show, use a soft baby-approved toothbrush and a small amount of toothpaste.
• Don’t share spoons or cups; saliva has bacteria that causes tooth decay.
• Try to avoid putting your baby asleep with milk, juice or other food that’s rich in sugar.
