Dr. Haring was born and raised in Mansfield Ohio. As the third of six children, he is used to having a lot of activity around him, which lends itself perfectly to a busy pediatric dental practice.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, he returned to Ohio to attend The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry. With a DDS degree for excellence in pediatric dentistry, Dr. Haring knew he wanted to care for children. He completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio and at the same time, received a Master’s of Science degree from The Ohio State University. Since graduation, Dr. Haring has been practicing pediatric dentistry in the Columbus area.

Dr. Nicholas Kerns, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Nicholas Kerns (Dr. Nick), is excited to join the talented team at Haring Pediatric Dental. Dr. Kerns received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Miami University and proceeded to obtain a Master’s of Science at Case Western Reserve University. He then
completed his degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery, cum laude, at the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. Dr. Kerns completed a two year residency in pediatric dentistry at Nationwide Children’s Hospital. Outside of his professional career, Dr. Kerns leads a very active lifestyle. He enjoys running marathons, road biking, golf, tennis, cooking and swimming. Dr. Nick and his wife, Jordanna, live in Upper Arlington with their little angel bunny dog, Penny Sue.
Dr. Kerns is passionate about giving back to the community and has been involved with multiple community service projects including organizations like Operation Smile, Special Olympics, and the Mid-Ohio Food bank. In addition, he has also provided free dental care to the homeless and those in need locally through Stowe Center, Day of Care and Give Kids a Smile.

Dr. Joel Richards, D.D.S.
Dr. Richards grew up in Westerville, Ohio and is described as an enthusiastic, high energy, and passionate individual. He received two degrees from The Ohio State University, a Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene, Cum Laude, and a Doctor of Dental Surgery, Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Richards then traveled to Nebraska, where he received his Specialty Certification in Pediatric Dentistry from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Children’s Hospital and Medical Center of Omaha. Giving back is important to Dr. Richards. He is proud to have been involved with numerous volunteer organizations including Give Kids A Smile Day and the Free Dental Extraction Clinic at the Columbus Public Health Department. Dr. Richards is honored to be part of the Haring Pediatric Dental team, and is dedicated to providing quality care and promoting a positive dental experience for every child and parent.
Dr. Richards and his supportive wife Trisha, who is a general dentist, are excited to be back in the Central Ohio community with their family and friends. They are self-described “foodies” who enjoy trying new restaurants and recipes. The couple also enjoys physical activity and of course cheering on their beloved Buckeyes!

2016: Awarded the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award for scoring within the top 3% on the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry Qualifying Exam.
